Privacy guaranteed — always
Because of our approach, storing sensitive user data such as passwords or e-mail addresses is not necessary. As a user, you remain completely anonymous. The MindYourPass software is designed according to the principle of “privacy by design”, which means that privacy is the starting point for all design decisions. Our international ISAE3000 certification and the Data Pro certificate show that your privacy is protected by MindYourPass.
The MindyourPass solution has been set up in such a way that if a hack should occur, it will never be able to expose sensitive data or allow abuse. After all, we don't store sensitive data. Our ISAE3000 certification confirms this feature of MindYourPass. MindYourPass is designed according to the “divide and conquer” principle. This means that the data that we keep is scattered and stored in different locations. For example, all relevant data is never in one database, but is stored spread over multiple databases. What's more, part of the information you need is in your head. The generation process itself also takes place in a distributed way. The first part takes place on our servers, the second part happens on your device. A hacker must therefore be in several places at the same time to steal a password. This makes it extremely difficult to harm, even when our systems are hacked.
The strength of a password is determined by three factors: length, randomness, and uniqueness:
- MindYourPass generates 128 character passwords. Such passwords cannot be broken brute-force.
- The characters in a generated password have no predictive value for other characters in the password. This makes it impossible to guess the password and the passwords cannot be found in dictionaries.
- The passwords that MindYourPass generates are globally unique. This means that each account gets a unique password. This does not give the hacker a chance to log in elsewhere via a leaked password.
Unfortunately, most sites don't accept 128 character passwords. That is why, in practice, MindYourPass will usually generate shorter passwords, for example 32 characters long.
MindYourPass uses patented technology to generate passwords “on the fly”. If you want to log in somewhere, use your easy-to-remember password, fingerprint, or facial recognition. MindYourPass uses this to generate the password associated with your account. With MindYourPass, you can securely use the same easy-to-remember password for all your accounts. MindYourPass prefers to generate the strongest passwords for you, but it can also generate your current, traditional password. Because MindYourPass can reproduce your passwords, MindYourPass does not have to store them itself. So with MindYourPass, you won't find a digital vault that stores all your passwords. So safe.
